Opening morning turkey season this year I’m all content listening to gobblers at a distance. Nothing happening close to me so I’m sitting down taking it all in. Along comes this young boar. Wind is right and all I have is my shotgun. So, I let him get within about 30 feet and let him have it with a 3-1/2 #5 turkey load in the head which I knew wouldn’t put him down since I’ve done that before and they just run off. After he quit going crazy he starts wobbling through the woods so I figure what the heck I’ll keep after him. Since he really didn’t know where he was I followed him about 100 yards and was able to get within 20 feet. He just couldn’t take that second load and down he went. FIRST pig I have ever put down with a shotgun. That’s Lane trying to photo bomb me-ha! He really enjoyed touching it. Ok, think I’m caught up now on the blog so I’ll try to keep up from now on???
