Tom has been married to my sister for about 30 years. Keep in mind our family (6 kids) grew up hunting/fishing so Tom has always been around us, eaten venison/fish, but never had much interest in the “harvesting”. UNTIL January 2016 when he was invited to a friend’s family ranch for extended doe/spike season. Shot his first deer (doe). Apparently he never knew he had the “itch” until he scratched it now he is hooked! So, I let him take this cull at our place this year-his first buck “EVER” as he says. He was more excited than if a seasoned hunter took a 150+!!! I’m glad I was able to be part of that and was probably as excited as he was. And, since we are covered up with turkeys since the survival rate has been so good the last 2 years, I let him shoot his first turkey. He has been to Cabelas so much lately I think they are naming a hallway after him!!
