Tom gets his first taste of the real deal. Stepped close enough to make this guy coil and rattle. He now knows he can jump 10 feet up and 10 backwards in one move. Cabela’s sold a good pair of snake proof boots a week after this.
Spring time-gotta love all the critters it brings out. I just don’t like them right by the camper door. This rat eating snake gets a pass though. Kinda like having a big ole tomcat around camp. Turtle pic doesn’t do him justice. He was massive. No telling how old he is.
Two birds-6 beards total. Not too bad of a season so far. The one on the left had 4 and the other had 2. Might add to that if I can get back in the turkey woods before season is over.
Another successful processing day in the books and now time to enjoy some of the benefits from deer season. Done in 7 hours. But, based on alcohol consumption, that time could have been shorter or longer-who’s to say-or care!! 85 lbs burger, 51 lbs breakfast sausage, and 57 lbs straight venison. That “should” hold us for a while. Good job Randy, Dave, Tom.
Me and Randy go last Saturday with our camp pig count at 43. Our goal was 50 before we came home and we did just that. Exactly 7 between us Saturday-Tuesday morning. #50 won the fur hat with a partial tail!! Guess we need to set a new goal.
After passing on lots of young bucks this big 9 (broke off to an 8) shows up Monday morning. Needless to say Randy didn’t waste any time making the decision to take this nice mature buck. Good job Randy!
